Ayurveda is all about promoting good health and not fighting diseases. But each treatment may be geared to protect you from specific health issues.

It is considered as a form of complementary and alternative medicine (CAM) in the United States of America.

Ayurveda and Life Energy

Those who practice Ayurveda believe every person is made of five basic elements of the universe – fire, water, air, space, and earth.

These combines together in the human body to form three life forces or energies are collectively known as doshas. Each dosha has specific characteristics and controls different aspects of your body. It is believed that the chances of getting sick and having health issues you develop are linked to the balance of doshas.

Three Doshas :

  • Vata dosha
  • Pitta dosha
  • Kapha dosha

Ayurvda For Thyroid Treatment

According to ayurveda pitta dosha is responsible for controlling thyroid function. Pitta is responsible for all the metabolic actions carried out by the thyroid hormones. Amount of pitta dosha determines the production of Thyroid Stimulating Hormones (TSH).
